What You Agree to When You Use This Tool

By using the hreflang checker you accept these terms. They exist because even a small free tool needs its expectations written down.

No warranty on verdicts

The report shows what this tool read in one fetch of each page: the canonical and hreflang annotations as served, the codes validated against the ISO lists it carries, and return links checked against the pages it could reach within the page cap. Search engines read the same tags on their own schedule and apply judgment this tool does not have, so a clean report is not a promise of how a page will rank or which version will be shown. The tool is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, and its operator isn't liable for losses that follow from using it.

Your responsibilities

Use the tool lawfully. Check pages you are allowed to inspect; a public page is public, but the responsibility for what you do with the findings stays with you. Don't abuse, overload or automate the fetch endpoint beyond normal interactive use, and don't use this service to probe systems you don't own or administer. Each check fetches up to forty pages from the sites you name; keep that in mind before pasting someone else's sitemap.

Page caps and fair use

Each check reads at most 25 pasted URLs and 40 pages in total, six at a time, with a time budget of about a minute. Those limits are what keeps the tool free and the origin shared with other sites usable; they are not negotiable per user, and scripting around them counts as abuse under the paragraph above.

Changes and contact

These terms may change as the tool evolves, and the effective date above moves when they do. Questions belong on the contact page. How data is handled is covered by the privacy policy.
